About the event
The Andover Garden Club will present “The Remarkable Life and Fight for Survival of the Monarch Butterfly” on Monday, Sept. 14, beginning at 6:30 pm. The talk will be held at The Andover Community Hub, 157 Main St., Andover.
Andover resident and avid gardener Bill Swenson will talk about how he developed an interest in Monarchs through his gardening, learned that the Monarch we see fluttering across our garden may be on a journey that began thousands of miles away and when that butterfly leaves our garden it may never return.
Bill set out to learn more about these butterflies and the epic journey they undertake as well as the environmental challenges they face on that journey. The focus of his presentation will be on what backyard gardeners can do to help increase the chances of survival of these distinctive butterflies.
